Book Reflection #9: “I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More!”

Title: I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More!

Author: Karen Beaumont

Illustrator: David Catrow

ISBN #: 0-15-202488-3

Publication Date: 2005

Read aloud: Yes to Kindergarten

The book is about a boy who just wanted to paint. His mother took away his paint, but that did not stop the boy. He painted his body parts, such as his leg as an Easter egg. His mother catches him and gives him another bath, and luckily this time there is no more paint left for him to make a mess. As a class you could cut out different body parts out of construction paper and him them decorate them. This could just be a fun art lesson, or you could use the concept of mixing colors.

This is such a good book! Both the story and illustrations are great! I’m glad that you like it, too.

Sounds like a good and nonsensical book…

I like the mixing colors idea!

haha I like that “ain’t” is in there!

I like the colors idea as well! Very creative!
